My first computer "build" please help

this is much more complicated than i originally thort basically i just wanted to fix an old computer up a bit to use with my tv. the computer that i have taken apart is an advent 3418. i have a new disc drive ( Samsung) and a new sound card that i can use however the old pc would not work and i assumed that it was an issue with the MOBO (rightly or wrongly) and so i ordered one of ebay to have a play with. my intention was to use the new motherboard and the new CPU and fan and add the rest of my old bits to it.

i have a 200GB HD, 1 cd drive and 1 CD/RW drive one stick of 512 MB RAM a PCU off the old computer and as mentioned above a new sound card as the sound on the last computer had stopped working. i also have a wireless network card that i was wanting to try and install.

like i say very new to all of this i opened my first computer up 3 days ago

3 problems here.

1 the old computer with the Pentium 4 was faster.
2 the old video card wont work on the new motherboard.
3 if you want to play HD content on your TV then this setup will not be fast enough.
