Hey guys,
About two months ago I posted here with a desktop build and used people's suggestions to refine the build for gaming. I ended up having troubles with getting the components while traveling but I now want to update the built and go through with it. Below I will post the build in its current state, I would really like to hear what you think and if you have any recommendations (and if so, why). This is my first time building a desktop, so any tips you can provide will help. Thank you.
OS:
Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU:
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
Motherboard:
ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z LGA 1155 Intel Z68
RAM:
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Power Supply:
OCZ ZX Series 1000W Fully-Modular
SSD:
Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" 128GB SATA III
GPU:
2 x MSI N580GTX Lightning GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB
HD:
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
Cooler:
Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler
_____________________ $2,400
Anything you can do to help me save on some of these components is appreciated. Because there are components I was not factoring in to my build before... it is going to get more expensive than I want. I want to be around the $2,400 mark (CDN).
I have made an alternate build with the following adjustments:
No aftermarket cooler.
Only 1 GPU.
__________________________ $1,800
What do you think?
Currently need to choose the following...
Computer Case:
Thermaltake ATX Element G?
Or other from the following site: PC Factory • Tu centro tecnológico
CD/DVD Drive:
Any brands that are way worse then others?
What else do I need? Sound Card? Networking? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
