my hp touch laptop only does touch screen something has been pressed and the key pad wont type, weve done it before but it just started working again but hasnt done the same this time .

True. If there is a default or no driver, there is no chipset drivers. You need special drivers to use the special FN keys and so forth. But as he cant use it period, I would first see if Windows can detect it at all.
True True, and if it is not detected, wouldn't it be a safe course of action to send it back to the manufacturer, seeing as fiddling around in a laptop can get quite messy, especially when looking for the keyboard cable?
