Video onboard - how to boot wih vid-card?

I have an older E-Machine that appears to have blown the onboard video. I put a video card in, it appears to boot up but I can't get into the BIOS to turn off the onboard video. Is there a way around this?

That actually is a possibility, I've done it before, while not the easiest to do, it is completely possible.

What model of eMachines, and what video card do you have? What type of video card is it, AGP, PCI, PCI-E?

Try clearing the CMOS and then booting with the new card in.
