How come my computer will not recognize my HDD when connecting it also with the CD-ROM using the one IDE cable?
I have a master HDD connected by SATA. I have a second HDD (my old HDD) connected by IDE cable. I also have a DVD burner that needs to be connected by the IDE cable.
My mobo only has one IDE cable connector.
If I plug the HDD in by iteself, it is immediately recognized. If I plug in the optical drive with it, my computer does not recognize the HDD.
My IDE HDD drive is jumpered to slave mode.
I tried plugging the HDD first in sequence and in second, but no changes.
