Beep Codes Apr 7, '09 7:48 PM
for everyone
I'm working on an HP Pavilion XT919, with the CUW-AM
Motherboard.
No operating system. When I first started on this
computer it would boot to the point
where it said "No Operating System", now it just beeps
one short and one long. (AMIBIOS.)
and shuts off immediately.
I have removed all cards, drives, RAM, etc. and still
just the beep code then shutdown. I
did notice that the power switch won't do anything
unless I first unplug the power cord and wait for the
green light on the power supply to go out, then it will
power up briefly. I have checked the power supply with
my tester and it tested good.
I've switched RAM to different slots, tried different
RAM... no joy. AMIBIOS doesn't actually show a beep
code for the one short and one long, but IBM BIOS says
it indicates system board failure.
I can't use my POST card because it doesn't stay on
long enough to get a reading.
Help!
