I recently built a home PC. I'm using a Pentium 4, 3.2 GHZ processor, ASUS P5Q SE/R MOBO, 4 GB ram, WD 320 SATA HD. Originally system worked for a while then started going into reboot while it was loading windows. System would continue until I cut power. Had to reload windows program to get it to work again, which it did for a while then the same thing. I replaced the HD Sata cable and it worked fine again. This time while I was watching a webcast, the video got stuck like a bad DVD does then I got the famous memory dump BLUE SCREEN from windows. Now system does the reboot thing again at the windows load screen.
I have run WD's diagnostic software on the drive twice and passed. I know if I reload windows again it will work but for how long? Anybody want to chime in with suggestions, by all means. I'm out of ideas.
