new i7 build

Hi, im looking to build a new computer and I want to get the i7, but thats about all im sure of. My budgets around $2000, so what else should I get?

$2000 is quite alot for a PC and you can build a great one for under it.

That comes to $1417.94. Adding a case, dvd drive, fans etc will add a couple of hundred. With the rest you can buy a nice screen. If you already have a nice one, then you can upgrade to 2 GTS285s in SLI if you really want, but it would already be a beast anyway.

I second everything on Meat's build

I'd recommend an Antec 1200 or 900, or a CoolerMaster Cosmos 690 or CoolerMaster HAF932 as good choices for a case, or as starting points for what you might be looking for.

I would go for either a WD or samsung HDD and samsung for the optical drive as well.
