Hey.
So I've got this mini dv camera. I just installed a new hard drive in my computer. Shortly thereafter, I was transferring some footage from the camera to my computer via the 1394 port using Windows Movie Maker. It worked fine, no problem.
The next day I charged my camera's battery and then tried to transfer some more footage onto my computer. Now the 1394 port is not detecting my camera (no "What do you want to do with this device?" prompt upon plugging it in) and Windows Movie Maker is all like "Hay you don't have a camera plugged in right now" when I try to capture footage.
What the ****'s goin on? Worked one night, and not the next. By the way, my motherboard's CD had the chipset stuff that contained the 1394 drivers. I installed that. Am I missing some sort of drivers that I need, considering it's a new hard drive? And if that's a case, why did this work before?
I really need that footage on my computer.
Please help,
Thanks.
And yes, it's in playback mode
