Gigabyte ga-ma69m-s2h won't boot

I got this Gigabyte mobo, GA-MA69m-s2h and an amd athlon 64 in it, i hook up the PSU and put the heatsink on etc... i got 1 ddr 400mhz 512mb ram chip in it. I turn the power on everything comes on the fans and lights but i get no display and no beeps. IS my mobo dead?

Assuming that the hardware you listed is all compatible (again, I am assuming only) then maybe the next thing to do would be to check your connections, specifically your CPU. Did you put thermal paste on before applying the heatsink and fan ? Not too much, you can have an ooze cause a short. Just a dollup will do.
