Sound issues while playing DVD's

I have a confusing problems while playing dvd's with my laptop. The movie playes fine, but there's no sound. The sound works perfectly while doing other things like playing CD's or mp3's.

The DVD player is a Slimtype DVD RW SDW 431S, and the laptop is an Acer Travelmate running Win XP. The driver seemes to be from microsoft. I have runned all install CD's that came with the computer.

Try checking Audio Channels - maybe you missed that option - you maybe need to choose appropriate Audio Channel.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunatly that doesn't seem to do the trick. Anyone else have a suggestion?

The computer is brand new, and it has never worked.

I'll try new drivers from acer's webpage.
