haha I spelled budget wrong XD

anyways for a budget build:

Q9300 and a mid-end $150~ vc

or

e8300( or equivalent) and a $280~ vc

So it's pretty much, a quad with lower end vc or a dual with a better vc
and this is considering that none of it will be OCed

The E8300 combo would give you better gaming performance, because of the better graphic card. Games haven't fully taken advantage of quad cores, let alone dual.

Why no overclocking? Those processors that you picked, were pretty much destined to be overclocked.

Good luck in staying on a budget. I set a budget when i built mine, went over, and i'm still not happy with my results. This crap gets addictive has heck. I WANT MORE. Personally i think if you are going to do it, save up for a 9300 and get a 2900 pro. Its better to go big in the first place rather than decide you want more and end up spending more money than you would have by replacing.
