LCD or CRT?

Also, one thing that no one has mentioned yet, when you buy a 19" crt it only has an 18" viewable area. A 19" lcd is in fact, 19" viewable.

Also, lcd's use less power than a CRT.
 
Plus, you're younger siblings can swing their arm around knock your LCD off its stand and onto the desk, about a 8 inch drop...straight on its screen.

This is a good point to bring up. Alot of the lower priced LCDs have a really flimsy base. If the monitor is going to see a lot of wear and tear you might want to pick up one of the more well constructed ones and look into a screen protector.
