playing music breaks up when burning cd's

When I try to burn a cd while playing music on winamp the music starts to breaks up and distorts beyond listening. I know burning cd's tax the system a bit but what can I do to resolve this. My specs are in my sig below.....

dont play music when you burn a cd. I have the same problem and it wont go away.

You can try a few things, but I wouldn't recomend it. Like disable the prevent buffer underun error, or copy to HDD first instead of a straight stream feed, of course the downside is that you may wind up with more cd coasters due to a poor burn that way and its probably not worth it.

yeah I have so many cd coasters, frisbees, windchimes, and wall decorations from those f'd up burns. thanks though....hmmm, maybe someone ought to start a thread for what to do with all the failed cd burns....lol..
