I am building a PC for me mom. She needs the basics but I have trouble building crap.
I have an extra Antec Sonata II &
Earth watts 500 PSU I will use.
I am contemplating whether to go AM2 or 939?
If I go S939
I have my old 3800X2 S939 CPU that I can re-lid and use.
Otherwise I will go AM2 since the 3600X2 is only $70.
Which should I be focusing on? Should I just go AM2?
Either way, I would like to find a mobo with onboard video (preferably NVIDIA)
Also I am wondering if an AM2 running less that DDR800 will be faster than an S939 running DDR400?
I would not mind saving money and using my old X2 but I had the thing OC'd pretty heavy soo I do no if I trust it for my mom who does not live near by.
I would however like to beable to OC whatever the CPU is to at least 2400. and it seems as though aloit of the MObos that I look at are limited here.
I am partial to doing all my shopping at Newegg.com - Buy Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!
And thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
