Hey guys
Well I recently purchased a Portable Firelite 60GB and my
portable machine is an Ibook G4 1.07 GHZ with 768 mb ram.
The firelite is USB 2.0 only and my ibook does have USB 2.0.
Anyhow, the drive is USB bus powered and the drive works
great on my Dual G5 and also my other PCs, but on my Ibook
it does not power it up. The usb slots do work on my Ibook because I use them often with my ipod and my Pen drives, but for some reason it doesnt want
to power up my firelite, making my firelite useless to use with
my laptop. Anyone know the problem and a solution, ive been
playing with it for awhile trying to come up with something, I even
tried different USB cords. But still no progress. If someone can give
me some advice it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Is your iBook set on Highest performance?
Also, is the iBook plugged into a powersource?

Might also check in your system profiler if the iBook is even recognizing the drive in its USB devices list.
/applications/utilities/system profiler

Also check the drive manufacturer's website for driver updates if needed.

Also, are you just using one USB port? If so, try the other one. Some iBooks were equipped with one USB2.0/1.0 and one USB1.0

If it doesn't work after this, contact either Apple, or the USB drive manufacturer. :)

Yes it is plugged into a powersource and I tried both USB slots.
It does not see the drive in the System Profiler under the USB section
and the Ibook's processor is set on highest.

Ill check on the updates but so far nothing has worked
