WASD is so shitty...

WASD is great, but im used to the arrow keys personally

Up arrow = Fowards
Down Arrow = Back
Left and Right Arrow = Lean or nothing
Delete = Nightvision (CS and Farcry and SCCT)
P = "@browse freeporn.com/todayspic.jpg"
Enter = Use Key
Shift = Sprint or walk

Mouse1 = Fire
Mouse2 = Alt Fire
Mouse3 = Reload
Mouse4 = Mic
Mouse5 = Matrix Button (Origionally a combo of a crouch jump combined with a weapon drop, due to my poor scripting it's just a weapon drop. Used for when i run out of bullets, why switch when dropping is faster :p)

WASD is the most efficient way of playing...all the keys are RIGHT there unlike the arrow keys....either way its pretty stupid to say "Meh using those keys is stupid"....whats the point of saying that? Whatever works for you

Foward - W
Left - A
Right - D
Backwards - S
Fire - Mouse1
Secondary Weapon Function - Mouse2
Reload - R
Jump - Space
Duck - CTRL
Walk - Shift
Last weapon used - Default
Drop current weapon - Default
Inventory Scroll - Mouse Wheel
Use - E
Spray Paint - T

I guess - My fingers are too big and I move to quick to carefully press them in the heat of fire. The fingers moving the mose (the arrows) at least have space from other keys, unlike WASD.

Arrows are too far from everything for me....I can hit everything effectively and quickly from the WASD position, not to mention I'd have to like scoot my keyboard or reposition myself just to use them.......I can go from forum whoring to gaming without moving with WASD since your fingers are there naturally anyway pretty much

Anyone tried using an XBOX controller in a game? I'm curious if any console controllers would prove a better solution.

I really don't like the idea of game controllers in shooters, can't imagine how you'd get nearly the same accuracy as with a mouse.

I learned on the arrow combinations and that's how I've always play me games, I like the bigger keys and I like the position of the delete/end/pgdwn keys and how they're positioned and I can easily hit all of them.

I wouldn't mind getting one of those seperate gamepads though that are similar to the number pad, I'd prefer to have the keys on the left side of the keyboard but oh well, I've learned to play otherwise.

I figure I'll try the wasd configuration when I get all my games installed just for the hell of it with it looking like:

forward - w
backwards - s
left - a
right - d
duck - control
reload - tab
walk - shift
last weapon used = ~
drop current weapon - alt
spray paint - z
use - e
voice communication - q
mic - x (I need to get a mic)
scores - c
buy menu - space bar

I like the idea of being closer to the numbers for easy weapon and buy inventory selection, I figure I'll just try it to see which works better.

my arrow keys are the same size as every other key so the "bigger keys" doesnt really apply to me :p

Mouse3 is my mic button, buy menu = default......basically a lot are default, I only change a couple.

I need a new keyboard though =/ My black one died and this one is some white clunky piece of crap.

I learned WASD when Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear was released. It defaulted to WASD and I didn't bother to change to the arrow keys like what I had in UT. Now, i'm addicted to WASD because of the sheer ease and control it offers compared to the arrow keys.

I'm just happy that nobody here uses the Zboard, that thing is a genuine piece of Sh*t.
