"It's not how much you make, it's how much you save..."

At 28 years old you'd expect that your mom would have some understanding that you are old enough to make your own decisions in regards to your finances. Unfortunately, parents never seem to lose the "I'M YOUR MOTHER or FATHER YOU MUST LISTEN TO MY ADVICE" mentality. They always feel that their opinions must be echoed in your life, because by god, they brought you into this world and they can take you right out too... lol.

Perhaps mom should be grateful that she son isn't buying $2000 worth of blow each week and snorting it up his nose until the membranes in his nasal cavities are melted away. Or may-be she should feel lucky that her son isn't spending the rest of his life drunk on some street corner night after night?

Perhaps you should explain to her as a veteran of the military you feel that you have done a honorable service to your country and are lucky to have gotten out alive. Explain how many soldiers aren't that lucky. Explain how many soldiers will never get the chance to build their own PC's and enjoy technology.

Or... you could just say, "Yea.. ok mom... whatever... and leave it at that..."
