I had XP Home SP1 on my laptop before, and it supported (in teh settings mode under desktop properties) use of two monitors at once, plugging another monitor and using it as well as my laptop screen. Was able to drag from screen to screen. Was that a feature updated by SP1? Because my version of XP Pro doesn't allow such a thing to happen. Hopefully the SP2 that is installing as I type this will do it....anyone know?

NO...dual screens were invented with Windows 98.

Windows 2000, XP home and XP Pro all support dual screens. It's just a matter of configuring. It has to do with configuring the hardware to recongnize all outputs. Then enabling the software drivers.

My guess is you have some sort of older drivers on your machine now. Use something like wcpuid(freeware, really easy to find on the net) and see what your chipset is, then search around for specific drivers rather than the generic windows drivers...
