I dunno, I made it completely through check out at Newegg with having to add anything else to the purchase of XP Home OEM.

So maybe its just in case of having to reinstall the operating system again and needing a new key?

No, the thing is, I just bought a few parts for my new build already but not the XP OEM disk yet. I just want to make sure that I can buy the OEM since I didnt order all of it together. Does that make any sense?

I don't think you need to keep the receipts - have you ever heard of MS asking to check your receipts? The retailer should only sell you an OEM copy if your buy a major hardware component
