Wireless Problem: Acquiring Network Address

My other desktop has been connecting perfectly to my wireless router for the past couple of months, but yesterday(out of the blue) it stopped connecting. Now it just says "Acquiring Network Address" and it stays like that forever. I can go into the shared folders on the network, but I can't do anything else. Absolutely nothing on the computer has changed and the router settings are the same as they have always been. I tried resetting the router, uninstalling ZoneAlarm, and uninstalling XP SP3. None of those things worked. I'm so flaming pissed off right now. Anyone have an idea as to why this would happen out of the blue? I installed Service Pack 3 a couple weeks ago and the wireless has been working perfectly until now.

have you gone into the device manager and disable and re- enabled the driver?

or repaired it?

try plugging the adapter into a different usb port. ive had a few bad adapters that took a bit of fiddling/different ports to get them working. one reason why pci is better i guess.
