Hello. I have a linksys router located in one room not hooked to a computer but to the cable modem. I have a desktop pc hooked up with a wireless adapter in order to access the internet (as it is located in a different room). I am trying to hookup my laptop which is also has wireless networking to be able to use the printer that is hooked up to the computer in the other room? I have hooked printers up before using a network but for some reason this doesnt seem to be as easy. Both computers are able to access the internet. I have also made sure the printer is setup to be shared. The printer is not showing up on the network if I choose a network printer instead of a local printer. Any suggestions? I appreciate any help. Thanks. Both computers are using Windows XP operating system.

Can you ping the other computer with the printer by it's IP and name?

Try what law said....also, when you browse the network do you see the other computer? Are both computers on the same workgroup?
