Windows startup

Hi
Everytime i turn on my computer, after i log in, i get a message that says this:
"Explorer.exe"
"The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000142) Click OK to terminate".
After I click ok, the box closes and my desktop is up on screen with no icons or programs loaded. The thing i do from here is Ctrl+Alt+Del and open up My Documents. After this, windows loads normally and opens my documents and everything runs fine.
Its really annoying, so please help me out.

maybe its a corrupt explorer.exe and it could also be a virus

Sometimes its a conflict with one of your startup progs disable all the uneeded ones

try a system file check start-> run, cmd, sfc /scannow, running sp2?
