windows problem

hi i just a new personal desktop pc and on the pc i used to use i was able to click on the my computer icon and then click on the C drive and it would stay in the same window but on my new computer it opens a new window when i click on a folder. Can anyone out there help me with this problem if so reply. my system is Windows 98 SE (build 4.10.2222)

You need to go to the folder views and change it there. Go to control panel/view/options. you will see where to change it from there.
