Windows 7 or Windows 8?

Might be an excuse for an upgrade!

Even using 64bit desktops at work make all the difference. Everything seems to function smoothly.

Haven't had a desktop since Win98!

Might be getting a bunce soon too so it's perfect timing!

How cheap can I custom build a desktop for? (parts all together, got monitor).

Depends on what you're going to be doing with it.

Mainly programming and web development, but I do like to sit down of a night time now and then and have a few hours chill time on the games. Would like to be able to play some of the latest games though.

I want a top system. I've always settled for half-decent laptops.

I'll check the build boards out, probably have a scout around the online stores first.
