Windows 7 explorer.exe virus

Oh yeah, make that CD or USB thumb drive off a friends computer you know isn't contaminated.

I don't know? I just scanned the computer it picked up nothing, which is making me quite skeptical. Although I did a system restore to last month I had saved, but I don't see how that would erase a virus.

Any thoughts or anything I should use to ensure its not hiding to strike again? :rofl:
 
System restore can easily erase a virus, since it 'undoes' all changes to your system (i.e. registry, startup items, installed programs) which occurred after that date. However,it does depend on what type of malware you're dealing with - it is equally possible that malware in documents or present elsewhere in your network could persist a system restore.
