if somebody knows, I was wondering why I need a windows 64-bit to a 64bit proccessor I understood that the names match but I wondered what is the actual reason for making another windows, only for 64bit proccessors?
I have AMD Althon 64bit and someone told me to use this windows 64-bit i dont know why but i used it.

thanks,
itay

you dont HAVE to have windows xp x64 to use your computer, you can use windows xp(the normal one) on your computer. x64 allows you to use the full extent of your processor which has a 64-bit wide data path aposed to a standard 32-bit processor only has a 32 bit data path. think of the data path like a highway. 64 lanes can move alot more trafic than 32 lanes. ;)
