I run win 98SE and a majority of my system was distroyed by a virus. Anyway the virus was cleaned and so were the infected files. I have some very importan files/documents that won't open because of being corrupted by the virus. Is there anyway to recover or reconstruct the data to be able to open those files?

viruses are sometimes too powerful to recover certain files, if youve got a big enough HDD maybe you could try installing windows to 2 directories (one for backup) ive done that on my computer with XP and any time one stuffs up i can replace its system files with the other windows's system files, mind you as long as they are the same OS you can do this
