will g80 boards need ddr2

im gettin ram tomorrow, and have to decide between ddr and ddr2. Will the g80 do better with a certain type, or will it not matter. Cause ddr is cheaper and faster.

what is a ge80 boards? k it doesnt matter wether the ge80(wtf is this?) can take ddr 2 or not. you can only use ram that your board supprts now. so what motherboard u have? or do u mean g80 as in video card? in that case video card dont dictate what ram u use motherboard does.

Nope. G80 the codename for a new PCI-Express video card, so any motherboard with a PCIe x16 connector will do.

Deciding? Which type you should get depends on your motherboard and processor. Plus, DDR and DDR2 are about the same, performance wise, though DDR is a little cheaper.

ya that "decision" should be pretty well made for you due to compatability haha.

AMD not AM2? = DDR.

AM2 or Intel = DDR2.

AMD not AM2? = DDR.

AM2 or Intel = DDR2.

Correction:
Intel Socket 478: DDR
Intel Socket LGA775: DDR2 (usually, though some boards support both)
