Why can't I connect to internet?

Hello all,
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop in my room that uses our linksys's signal to connect to our internet. But my laptop keeps saying, "limited or no connectivity." It happens every few months. I try to repair the connection but it fails because it can't renew the IP address. My mom's computer, which also uses the linksys, get the internet fine. What could be wrong?

Are you using a Static Or Dynamic IP Adress?

To Check, Start Menu>Control Panel>Network Connections> Right click on wireless card> Select TCP/IP and go into properties. If it's set to auto it's dynamic, if there are numbers manually entered in,it's Dynamic.

Typo, if there's number set in it manually, it's Static.
