compaq should have included a windows reinstall cd with your laptop.

if you can't find it, call up compaq and they could send you one. you already own a legal license for the os, so u don't need to buy it again.

Stuff like this often shows up on eBay as well. I searched for yours but didn't find any. A large number of Dell laptop restore discs showed up, however.
