Im trying to figure out which mother board i should get.....im really torn between the dfi lanparty but don't know so if you guys have any brand reconmandations or a specific model...oh im going to be puttin in a amd cpu so keep that in mind

If you are considering a DFI, get it. If your CPU socket 939 or 754 or Socket A?

Have you bought the processor yet? If you havent, go with a 939. They stopped making the 754, and you can get hella more power out of a 939. But if you already have the 754 and are on a budget, than I dig.

no i havent gotten anything yet...so i should just get the 939 and yea thats where i was going to get the dfi lan party 754 at newegg.com so which cpu should i get for the 939?

Yes, do not get the 754. They are being phased out, I think AMD has even stopped making them.

Are you going to be overclocking? Whats your budget look like?

yea im going to learn how to overclock..and my budget will be like i don't know im going to buy stuff when ever funds are available im not trying to have this computer built next week....i added up all the stuff that i think i wanted and it came up to $910.00 so something like that....or maybe less if i can find some steals on ebay

Thats what I do too, just buy stuff as I have the money. I would say go with a Venice 3200+ and a DFI Lanparty NF4 UT mobo. As for RAM, well, I'm not too good of an expert on RAM, so we will wait until Nubius or Gaara or someone else finds this thread. .

Are you looking to go SLI? That is a difference of about $50 in the cost of the mobo.

What are you looking at for cooling? I would say the Zalman 7700CU or the ASUS Star Ice.

is it worth the extra 50 bucks because if it is then yes.....if its something that would probably unnecessary probably not
