I almost bought a D80, but I didn't have the opportunity to wait and i'd rather have the faster flash sync of the D70 becuase when i'm shooting a game, 1/500th would almost freeze action even without a flash, 1/200th would be blurry without a flash when used with a 200mm+ lens. Right now though, I wouldn't get a D80 unless someone gave it to me becuase the price wouldn't justify the differences. My next body would be at least a D200.
