How good is this rig on a scale of 1-10 as far as playing current games go? Like, Black Ops, WoW, Star Wars Old Republic when it comes out, Crysis, Dead Space 2, etc. How would it perform?

For the price id say 9 ! I want that GPU !

9800gt graphics card and quad core q8300 @2.5Ghz runs dead space 2 on full at way above 60 fps, crysis however runs about 30 - 40 fps on high, dont run well on ultra.

Also should i be thinking about a cooling system? i dont really know anything about that as far as that goes..

Basic fan cooling will be fine. unless your over clocking you prob wont need extra case fans but later on if you over clock the components may get really hot so a new case may be needed with the capacity of having some case fans. I recommend one at the front taking air in, one at the back taking air out and maybe a side fan to blow onto the CPU. most cases have a built in front fan that plus directly into the mobo. My fans plug into a spare molex power cable. xilence are a good brand along with cool master. Also a good thermal paste to mount your CPU is Arctic silver 5 (good conductive properties).
