What Would Happen to Your City If It Got Nuked?

Luke while the blast of a nuclear weapon is what most people consider the main event (an in a lot of respects it is) the fallout of a blast is what matters more than the initial explosion, NATO guidelines from the late 50's an 60's talk of nuclear weapons as a area denial weapon although this theory for there use is now not allowed by international law when the chips are down or if you are fighting a war with any of the big boys after a while the LOAC goes right out the window.

I never denied that mate...like i said. There is not much they can do with our massive amount of land, and relatively low population.

China is possibly other than the USA an Russia that has a army big enough to successfully invade Canada

how so? seriously, how do you think they would INVADE Canada. Air is out of the question American and Canadian air craft would be all over them before they got close...perhaps you did not hear about the Russian plane flying into our airspace a little while back? They Were not even over out land yet and they would have been shot down had they not been force to leave by our fighters

I think we and the us would notice any naval activity far before they were near us.

So please, I'm not joking, let me know how they would invade Canada, i want to know, because i can honestly not think of a way.
Also if your knowledge of season 16 of the Simpsons was up to scratch you would know that that line was not a Chris original it was recycled from Grampa simpson while he was loading the plain with Canadian meds to sell in Springfield.

You have really lost me on this...

This is true but just because you know there is a invasion fleet out there that dose not equate to a good defence.

OK being totally hypothetical here: A sea born invasion is the only way of getting enough troops on the ground in the first wave of a attack, now yes Canada and the US would attempt to stop this but as I said before in this hypothetical situation things oh got bad enough for a enemy to consider invading the mainland of Canada (In this case lets say china).

China's armed forces are experienced in cold weather fighting, and also in rough terrain so once they have landed that issue is not that big for them, but back to the initial invasion. China has a vast navy while there ships are less advance than ours they are much easyer to produce, this shortens the production time, China also has a huge airforce (last time i looked it was the largest that might have changed) there invasion force would have a full time air escort from land based aircraft and carrier based aircraft.

And as i said before luke for canada to be invaded it would have to be a seriously bad situation of a prolonged war for it to become practical.

Tell you what give me two day's and I will suprise you with something, that's 2 days from 00:06 GMT the 28th of march 09 deal?

I sure hope so lol.

my apologizes, i did not see that you said that.

I don't think a naval invasion would work, yes if we were distracted, and what not it would be the best way to do it, but im sure we would still have defensise up, even with a massive fleet, a tacticle nuke, a few submarines, shore based defenses would slow them down enough that we would have time to do something. That is just my opinion.

We shall be ready....

I live about 10 miles away from a nuclear power plant, Three Mile Island. It had a minor meltdown or something in the 70's before I was born, it was a pretty big deal. But yea, if that thing ever goes up, I'm done for and everyone I've ever known probably.

It really wasn't a big deal...

Just played up by those who oppose Nuclear Power, which really is the safest and most effective "clean" way to produce energy.

To put it into perspective, the amount of radiation released gave the residents in the area a dose on par with the radioactivity of a dozen bananas.
