Only servers need them, and they cost £300 or $550 EACH. Don't bother with a 850W PSU, they don't know what their talking about

Just make sure you choose one with enough voltage on each rail, i.e. at least 20A on the 12V

For the 1100W PSU, it's almost $500...c'mon. That's too much for us. I could live with 400W-475W....up to 600W....after that, it's useless

It relies heavily on what your video card can support too. Hardcore SLi people will love to use a 600watt PSU while the typical user like me will do perfectly fine with a 450watt PSU. I'm sure if you have a regular video card running on an Athlon 64 system, you can get away with 350watts but that is pushing it. I would say minimum is like 400watt for that comfort zone.
