What Vid Card to get?

8800GT 256MB cards are supposed to be around $200. Also I would take a look at the Radeon 3850, performs really well too.

It's a really good card for the money and you won't have to upgrade in 6 months like you would have to if you got an 8600.

Do you mind if I ask what source you got that from. I dont know how a card with 512 ram on a 256 interface @ 2250mhz out performs a 1Gig or ram on 512 interface @ 2400Mhz - I understand the core is better but I can overclock to close, if not to that speed.

The 2900PRO isn't on there, but the 2900XT (which is faster than the 2900PRO I think...) is.

VRAM doesn't matter all that much. 512MB is more than enough right now. 1 GB is just excessive.

how much of a difference the Pro running 1Gig GDDR4 over the XT's 512 GDDR3 that is listed?
