You can't compare them with clock speed, thats for sure. AMD can keep up with Intel in some 3D benches if the Intel is not overclocked. But once overclocking starts, AMD gets hammered. Super pi is just a lose lose situation for AMD, the stock E6600 is just as fast as the fastest AMD processor. Now, memory bandwidth is a whole different ballgame. AMD crushes Intel in memory bandwidth. Intel can't keep up. This is why AMD processors work so well in 4 socket setups. Intel's FSB is too saturated with 4 processors, especially quadcores trying to talk to each other and the RAM, having to go through the northbridge.
