Im really into gaming and dont want to wimp out on the cpu so im going with the intel core 2 quad q9550 2.83 ghz 12mb cache i figure it should last me long enough so i dont have to buy a new one for a while
however
after buying such a pricey cpu (290) id like to get a good deal on the mobo while still being able to get everything out of the cpu. right now im looking at the XFX nForce 750i SLI Motherboard on tiger direct. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4316659&CatId=1533

all i want to know is: is it a good board for this cpu and if not what would you do

thank you for any posts

It depends a lot on what graphics card you are going with. It would be best to go with a board that supports the multi-GPU technology of your card's manufacturer so that you have a nice upgrade path for the future.
Go with a P45 board if you have an ATi card, or the 750i if you have an Nvidia card.

Yeah the motherboard looks fairly decent. Could be better but good for the price. Looks very pretty too. :D
