What CPU Cooler should I purchase?

I would have to say the Dark Knight does look sexier though but I want something for the best cooling as I want get my Q6700 to 3.4 or 3.5.

Looks like the Dark Knight one gets more rpm.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't more rpm mean better cooling?
They look pretty much the same otherwise to me..other than size.
 
They both should perform around the same. Better RPM doesn't always mean better cooling. You want a high number CFM. That's how much air it pushes every minute. Higher RPM usually equate to smaller fans and bigger noise.
 
The Dark Knight is simply a more expensive, nickel plated HDT-S1283 with a flashy LED fan. Nickel coating actually reduces heat transfer, so the original will perform better whilst being cheaper.

For only $3 more you get a better, longer lasting, high flow fan and complete mounting hardware including the backplate. The standard S1283 has a low flow fan and basic mounting clips. They both perform well with the Dark Knight coming out ahead in most tests.
