What are your biggest challenges with staying productive while working remotely?

To be honest in my role I see working remotely as a choice rather than a way of working. What I mean is my colleagues are expected to be physically in the office 60% of the time however I get to choose: if I want to go to the office I can but it’s rare, more often you will find me at a supplier site.

When I am at home I’m quite disciplined so it’s not an issue. I designed my home office to work for me rather than be just a desk so it has dual monitors, home Mac mini as well as the work laptop etc.

I work from home almost exclusively. The only exceptions are when I have to go and do my technicians inventories (mandatory twice a year) or if I have to go visit on of my techs for some reason.

My home office is in my bedroom, unfortunately. I have an L-desk set up with my personal rig on the larger side, and my work setup on the other. My work kit is a laptop in a docking station connected to two 24" screens, wireless keyboard, and a Razer mouse. It's a decent arrangement but my company's VPN only allows sessions up to 8 hours, so I always have to log back in come afternoon.

If I get bored working remotely I will turn on my favorite music or play a game to pass time. When I'm at work, there are allot of dead spells which mean I sometimes sit for hours with absalutely no activity and all of the sudden i'm extremely busy or overwhelmed with too many tasks at once and I have to state whoe horsey slow down! lol

My biggest issue with working remotely is not randomly throwing Star trek or sci-fi quotes at people, when they are THE Slowest slowbro's ive ever interacted/or spoken with.

And then going " uh wut, oh that I musta fallen asleep or something, Sorry "

Just kidding.
