What are the TOP intel and AMD processors avaliable

i am looking to upgrade my computer i have not been paying much attention to what has been coming out lately it has been like 2 years now since i have done anything to my computer. i see intel has a bunch of new stuff but their numbering system is getting very confusing with so many diffrent ones. could somone tell me what are the best and fastes of each intel and AMD

Well, The Pentium 4 EE 3.8GHZ is the fastest. And, for the new AMD's AM2 socket, the Althon 64 FX-62 is the highest.

AMD all the way but i think the FX series is not a value for money cpu.

AMD all the way if you plan to game, Intel processors have been proven to be better at Multi-tasking, and everything apart from gaming.

The Pentium 4 EE is a nice processor, could waste an AMD anyday - my opinion.
