Just when I finally thought i had decided on which plasma HD TV to go for i am faced with a probelm i have just found out. I was planning on going for the Samsung 42inch plasma from their Q97 RANGE. However their tv does not accept 1080p only 1080i. Whereas the Pioneer PDP 427XD accepts 1080P But only has a hdmi 1.1 port.

SO HOW CAN THE PIONEER HAVE HDMI 1.1 AND ACCEPT A SUPERIOR SIGNAL (1080P) BUT THE SAMSUNG WHICH HAS THE NEWER HDMI 1.2 NOT ACCEPT 1080P?

im confused and would appreciate your help. Just thought id tell u i am planning on using this plasma for PS3 AND Sky HD in the future. The living room is quite large also.

it doesn't support 1080p because its a 1080i tv, the samsung
that pioneer kinda sux look for a tv with at least two hdmi 1.3 inputs

what do you mean it's a 1080i tv dont most top end support both 1080i and 1080p? Pioneer= suck? Arent they meant to be the best top end electronics manafacturer of tv and audio? anyway whats better 1080p or 1080i

many sets are 1080p however some people like to trick you and say "full 1080resolution" when in reality it is 1080i/720p. and some tv's support 1080i and 720p but not 1080p, i preefer panasonci or sony for my tv's, what will you be using your hdtv for?

I will be using my HD TV for playstation 3, standard definition content for now but sky HD soon, definitely.
I have quite a big living room about a 6 metre gap between seat and tv.
Will i notice the difference between 1080p and 1080i?
Anyway which tv do u think is better the Pioneer PDP 427XDhttp://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/62/63/413/PDP-427XD/index.html

or the samsung Q97 42inch.

SAMSUNG's Digital World - Television | Q97 Series

If you think they both suck which plasma would u recommend?
Thanks
