Well google + got leaked the data og 50 million odd users ... twice leading to its planned shutdown. Facebook is had voilated yet another law. User data is the new oil. It was unregulated and some body has to regulate it. I think as time goes on more and more rules will be imposed.

Look at the amount of people that are using duck duck go for this very reason.
