Hello.
I would like to create a tag or link or a hashtag for a website I created.
How does a person do that?

If I am talking to someone on twitter and I would like to send them to my
website...I would simply like to provide them with a link.

If I could get that info it would be great.

Tried googling but it's not very instructive or good at explaining it.

Thx.

Yes. Or a 'regular' link. Whatever that is.

Like maybe other things I've seen like @website; #website etc.

You can use any extensions or tags. It all depends on how your search engine is made, ie more exactly, what the search engine is able to find.

@ mentions are for accounts on whatever platform you're on.
# are for searches on whatever platform.

So go go with your Twitter example:
you would do @someUser to tag / call out a specific user.
you would do #someWord to make your post appear if somebody searches for that keyword/phrase that you put in the hash tag.

If you're just directing somebody to a website, just paste the URL in your message. Since Twitter has a character limit, shortening your URL with a service such as Bit.ly or TinyURL will save on characters - but may make people more nervous on clicking them (since they obfuscate the actual link).
