I've read a couple of tutorials regarding VPN with windows xp home ed. I am still a little confused of how to do it. Let's say that I want to access my home PC from a PC where I go to college. When I set up the connection to my home PC, do I want to connect to my IP address? or how do I do this? When I try to connect to my IP address, it doesn't work. My home PC is just a single computer, no network, just DSL connection. Can someone please help me out?

make sure you have the right ip address... it must not be the ip with local settings ex(192.168.xx.xx). Just go to www.whatismyip.com for the easiest lookup. Try using that ip with remote connection software and you should be able to connect. If you don't want a GUI to be shown and just a blank command prompt, I suggest using a software called putty.
