which do you think is the better card?

Ati Radeon HD 2900PRO 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card

or

GeForce 8600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card

The ATI card is better, but also much more expensive. If you are going into that range, then the 8800gt is your best bet.

3850 is good, but if you wanna spend a little more, go for the 8800gt. Beats all of ATIs cards I think. And its one of Nvidia better cards. What resolution do you game in? If it's lower, you can get a 256mb model of the 8800gt for less then $200.

well i want to go lower on the price but i know to get a descent deal its not going to happen which is why those are even in there to begin with but from what ive read on some of them the 2900pro can out perform the 3850
