Video Cards for Laptops?

Yeah, I've heard of a few...but most any laptop you get that you actually want to upgrade wouldn't be capable ;P It's the decent ones that are.

But yeah...PCI express seems like it'll really change things in a few years...

Yeah, hope it does. A pci express video card is kind of crazy though for todays technology.

Well Nvidia is pioneering a new tech with the 6800Go. They are supposively going to be easy to upgrade as a desktop video card, but well see.

Right now they are only available in small quantities but here is a site that is selling them

Also Alienware Laptops are upgradable sorta.

Hey,

yeah I read about the upgrading of the Laptop video card that Nvidia is developing, and it looks pretty cool. It will be interesting to see whether it performs as well as expected though.

Cheers,
Chris :)

what is better....ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON™ 9700 discrete graphics w/128MB or the NVIDIA GeForce4 FX Go5200 w/64MB? I mean obviously 128 beats 64, but which one performs better in a laptop?

I think the Radeon 9700 with 128MB RAM is heaps better. (me waits for some Nvidia fan to say something different hehe).

Cheers,
Chris :)
