i'm not sure if i told some of you this but basically, both my phones got broken in the same week by water... and i need at least one new one.

I notice all these acrynyms, like GSM, SIM, etc... and my question is pretty simple...

If i buy a phone like an L7 SLVR, does it work with verizon?

o and btw im in the US, with maybe a month or two tops outside. It would be nice if it worked outside of the US, but definatelly not required...

EDIT: some additional pages to take into consideration........

based on those i would say verizon does work with GSM, but i'm still a little confused about it

No - verizon does not use SIM cards. SIM cards are what contain your information (service, number, contacts, etc). Say if I had a SIM card in my phone and the battery died. I could take out my SIM card and put it in another SIM card phone and it would use my service and have all of my contacts on it.

I'm not sure what GSM is... but i know for a fact verizon does not do SIM cards because i have verizon and i wanted to get an iPaq as my phone, but can't because of the no sim card thing.
