Ventrilo IP (using my own domain)

I bought a ventrilo server recently and it is using the host's domain name (for the ip) and I want to change it to my domain (vent.mydomain.net) I already own the domain. I use GoDaddy's control panel. I'm sure I have to change some DNS stuff but I don't know how. Could someone please walk me through setting up my domain on the vent? Thanks in adavance.
